Shock wave therapy

This method is intended for treatment of especially connections of muscles and bones aches in places of shoulders, elbows, heels, Achilles tendon, muscle pains and so on. The shock wave works especially where standard treatment methods have not brought desired effect and can save operation for many people. Efficiency of the shock wave fluctuates around 60-90 % for patients, who were not relieved by standard treatment methods.

Most frequent indications:

- Heel calcar
- Tennis or golf elbow
- Pains of shoulder joint
- Aching groins or pains of Achilles tendon
- Pains in the area of neck, chest and hip backbone, pelvis and back or hip joint
- Slow healing of fractures
- Etc.

The shock wave method is based on transfer of mechanical energy into affected tissue, where several reactions take place:

1. pain damping
2. healing by acceleration of tissue metabolism
3. dissolution of accumulated calcium

Treatment length and number of sessions are indicated by a physician specialized in orthopaedics, surgery, rehabilitation and sport medicine. Please contact MUDr. Rastislav Hromádka and MUDr. Karel Maško in the Canadian Medical Care.
